VAM Industries was established in 1988 and started operations in January, 1989. It was started as a small scale unit by proprietor Mrs Madhu Sood (MA, BEd) and was joined by Mr Omesh K. Sood (BE - Mechanical). Mr A. K. Sood (IIM Ahmedabad) recently joined the team to add value to its marketing team. This enhanced VAM's market presence and will continue to drive its growth going forward.
The company is located in "The city Beautiful" Chandigarh. VAM started off with a few key products like cups and containers but developed its product portfolio to more than a 1000 packaging solutions.
VAM's packaging solutions have a significant presence in the northern Indian states of Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal, UP and Uttaranchal. VAM is increasing its market presence gradually by tying up with various distributors for its products in the southern, eastern and western states.
The strength of the company lies in its promoters, who being well qualified and experienced, do not hesitate to accept the challenge of producing intricate and precision packaging.
A number of products are currently being exported from our country after utilizing the packaging capabilities of VAM Industries. Similarly, a lot of Import Substitution for the packaging has taken place. For example, our company has successfully developed precision packing trays for the packing of Electron guns for TV Picture tubes which were earlier being imported from Hitachi Corporation, Japan by Jet Electronics Ltd. for their Chandigarh and Baroda Plants.
The Company also undertakes the manufacturing of the Vacuum Forming machines and Blister Sealing machines at its unit. It also boasts of an independent Tool room for indigenously making of the Dies, where the promoter has vast experience of working on intricate designs and shapes.
There has been a consistent and noticeable improvement in the productivity and service levels of the unit, which has gone a long way in earning the goodwill for the Company.
